He is a Senior Lecturer in Health-related Exercise and Fitness at Leeds Metropolitan University. His teaching and research interests are in the role of exercise and physical activity in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic disease. |

She represents exercise specialists nationally within the BACR-Exercise Professionals Group and is a member of the BACR Phase IV Steering Group. |

Diane Crone BSc (Hons), PhD.Reader, Exercise Science Diane is a Reader in Exercise Science at the University of Gloucestershire. Her work involves research, supervision and consultancy in exercise and health, for example in the evaluation of exercise referral schemes, the role of physical activity for mental health, and as a lecturer on the BSc (Hons) Exercise and Health Sciences degree and on the MSc in Physical Activity and Health Development. |

Lesley SimpsonGroup Health Promotion Manager Lesley is the Group Health Promotion Manager for WLL, a Leisure Trust which has 14 sites over Bucks and West Oxford. Within this role she works with partners to develop a health strategy which, amongst other projects, includes initiating and developing Phase IV cardiac rehabilitation classes. She is also responsible for developing the exercise component of the Phase III cardiac rehabilitation group. |

Gwen StrongFreelance Cardiac Specialist Nurse Gwen gained a post registration qualification in cardiothoracic nursing in 1981 has worked with cardiac patients most of her career culminating in setting up ,developing and running a community based cardiac rehab programme for the last for 18 years. She was on the original development working party for the BACR Phase IV training course in 1995 and been heavily involved in its development ever since. She has an MSc in Advanced Cardiothoracic Nursing. |

Dr John BuckleyDr John Buckley has been lecturing and working as a frontline practioner in the areas of Exercise Referral and Cardiac Rehabilitation for 20 years. He is a Founding Managing Partner of the Lifestyle Exercise & Physiotherapy Centre, Shrewsbury (est 1988) and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chester. |
