Course  Requirements

Exercise Qualification

You must enclose a copy of the certificate issued by the awarding body whose training is recognised as meeting the standards for at least NVQ Level 2 (Stage 1) in Exercise and Fitness but preferably a NVQ level 3 in Exercise and Fitness. In general a relevant degree combined with evidence of extensive instructor experience is also accepted. In this case you will be required to produce evidence of the syllabus/modules relating to the theory and application of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology along with details of the assessment process.

Experience

You should have gained at least 150 hours of teaching adults land-based exercise within the last 2 years and have at least 6 months experience since your exercise qualification.

Phase III Endorsement

You will be asked to have your application endorsed by one of your local Phase III professionals. If accepted on the course you will be expected to visit at least four cardiac rehabilitation sessions and, on completion of the course, will be asked to submit one written case study as part of the course assessment.
